For Mills Webmail: https://webmail.mills.edu
- Most problems that we have seen are related to old installations of Java. If you are using IE and you see a small yellow triangle in the lower left hand corner this is most likely a Java error.

For Windows users:
There are two parts to Java on Windows;
- Make sure your Java VM (Virtual Machine) is up to date at:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com We recommend applying all "Critical" patches then check for "Windows (Your OS version)" patches related to Internet Explorer or Java VM. You may have to run through this a couple of times with rebooting in between. Do not rely on the Automatic Update feature to have installed all of these patches, as it usually will not.
- Ensure you are running Java 1.4.2 or newer.
- For Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000 do: START -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Java
- For Windows XP do: START -> Control Panel -> Java
If you do not have any Java Control Panel Applets you likely do not have a proper version of Java. If you find an older version you should first uninstall it then download the most appropriate version for you from: http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads.html Most users will only need the "SE" versions not the "SDK" 1.4.2 is our minimum requirement 1.6 is better if you have no applications that require 1.4.x., most users can go to 1.6 with no problems. We have not tested any versions higher that 1.4.2.
For Mac Users:
Use the OS "Software Update" feature to update your version of Java
- For OS 9 do: Apple Menu -> Control Panels -> System Update
- For OS X do: Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> System Update
Additional information is at: http://www.apple.com/java/
