1. Download and Install Fetch
- Connect to the Internet.

If you do not already have a secure FTP (file transfer protocol) program installed on your computer, you can download Fetch here:
- Enter your Mills login name and password to download this file and click Log in.
- Click Continue if prompted, "'Fetch 5.1' contains an application. Are you sure you ant to continue downloading Fetch 5.1?"
- Once downloaded, double-click on the Fetch 5.1 folder on your desktop.
- Drag the Fetch icon to your Applications folder.
- Open your Applications folder and double-click on the Fetch icon. If you will be using Fetch frequently, you may want to add Fetch to your dock by dragging this icon to the dock.
2. Set Up a New Connection
- The first time you open Fetch, the New Connection window should open. If you do not see this window, select New Connection from the File menu.
- In the 'Hostname:' field enter one of the following, depending on which server you need to access:
- myfiles.mills.edu to connect to your myfiles server space (personal space for students, faculty, and staff)
- main-campus.mills.edu to connect your Main Campus server space (departmental storage space for faculty and staff)
- kaos.mills.edu to connect to Kaos (storage space for Banner reports for faculty and staff)
- Click the heart icon in the upper righthand corner of the window and select Make Shortcut.
- Click OK.
- In the 'Username:' field enter your Mills login name.
- In the 'Connect using:' pull-down menu, select SFTP.
- In the 'Password:' field enter your Mills password.
- Click OK and the server window will open.
Note: The next time you use Fetch, go to the Shortcuts menu and select Show Shortcuts. Then double-click on the shortcut for the server and enter your password. Do not select 'Add password to keychain.'
3. Transfer Files
- You can drag files into this window to transfer files from your computer, and drag files from this window to move files to your computer. You can delete files on the server by selecting the file and clicking the Delete button.
4. Disconnect When Finished
- When you are finished, be sure to disconnect from the file server by clicking the red X in the upper lefthand corner of the window.
- Quit Fetch by going to Fetch menu and selecting Quit Fetch.
