Virus Information Virus Repair Procedure and Policy All computers connecting to the Mills College network need to have the latest virus protection software and the latest security updates and patches for your operating system and applications. On average, Mills College has 500+ students and faculty and staff using our wireless networking service each day. If infected with a virus or a worm, any one of these computers can disrupt services on campus. Information Technology Services (ITS) staff members will contact students, faculty, and staff individually when there is evidence of a virus or a worm on any computer connected to the Mills network. A message is sent to the user of the computer suspected of being infected and the computer's network access is blocked until the user has worked with ITS staff to address the problem. All other services (email, class materials, etc.) will remain available using other campus computers. Please see the following page for tips on how to protect your devices, information, and yourself on the Internet: http://www.microsoft.com/security/family-safety/online-safety-tips.aspx Mills College offers free virus protection software for students, faculty, and staff with personally owned computers that use our network.
