Welcome to the Mills College Writing Center
The Writing Center is a free service available to Mills College undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines. Writing Center Fellows and undergraduate Writing Tutors offer writing consultations. Writing Center Fellows are trained graduate teaching assistants in our nationally renowned English Department. Writing Tutors are undergraduate students selected to receive specialized training and be mentored by the Writing Fellows. Students are encouraged to use the Center as a resource and meet with Writing Fellows and undergraduate Writing Tutors as needed for one-on-one support—for any type of writing, for any class, and during any stage of the writing process.
The Center aims to provide a peer-centered approach to writing in a comfortable environment, where students can interact on equal footing with Writing Fellows and Tutors, hold productive discussions about their writing, and ask questions in a friendly, non-evaluative atmosphere.
