Program Descriptions

Experience Mills
This event is designed for high school juniors, seniors and transfer students. If you want to attend a college that offers a collaborative learning environment and is renowned for academic excellence, Mills College may be a good fit for you! During this event, you will meet dynamic students, learn about the application process, tour the campus, and sample the curriculum by attending a class. We offer two dates in the fall for you to join us: Saturday, October 18th or Tuesday, November 11th. Please select the date that best accommodates your schedule.

Advising Day for Admitted Spring 2015 Transfer Students
This event welcomes all admitted transfer students to campus on Friday, December 5th. Programming for this event includes campus tours, individual transfer of credit evaluations and financial aid appointments. Students will have an opportunity to attend an academic advising session with a faculty member. Students who have submitted their enrollment deposit will be able to register for their spring semester classes. The program closes with a lunch reception. Please refer to the information in your acceptance packet for instructions on registering for Advising Day.

Overnight Program for High School Seniors
The Overnight Program is an exciting 2-day event for high school seniors who have recently been admitted or have applied to Mills College and are awaiting an admissions decision. The program will begin on Friday, February 6th at noon and conclude on Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 pm. If you have not yet applied to Mills College and would like to attend the Overnight Program, please click here. Prospective high school seniors who are interested in attending this event must submit an admissions application by January 15, 2015. Please visit www.commonapp.org and apply today.

During the Overnight Program you will meet Mills students and experience our engaging and empowering academic environment. You will interact with campus leaders and faculty members. You can tour the campus and sample the curriculum by attending a sample class lecture. On Friday night, you can enjoy and participate in the annual Mills Got Talent Show and spend the night in the residence halls hosted by a Mills student.

Also during the Overnight Program, the Music Department will host auditions for students who intend to pursue a major or minor in Music during their undergraduate career. Auditions will be held on Friday, February 6th. Students who audition will be considered for one of two scholarships available: the Barbara Hazelton Floyd Scholarship (up to $10,000) and the Carroll Donner Commemorative Scholarship (up to $8,000). Spring Visit Day
During this Saturday event for high school sophomores, juniors and transfer students, you will experience the unique and exceptional college environment Mills College has to offer. You and your family will have the opportunity to hear from dynamic students and college administrators, discuss the benefits of women's liberal arts and sciences education, and tour the campus. You will attend workshops dedicated to providing you with helpful tools and tips as you embark on your college journey. This program will include a personal statement writing workshop as well as a leadership session. This program will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

Transfers Explore Mills
Mills may be a great transfer option! To find out why, we invite you to join us at one of our Transfers Explore Mills programs. These programs will allow you to explore the unique and exceptional college environment Mills has to offer. You will learn about admission, financial aid and transfer credit.

Transfers Experience Mills
Mills is great transfer option! To find out why, we invite you to join us at Transfers Experience Mills. During this event, you will learn about the application process, tour the campus, and learn about the value of at Mills education. Optional afternoon activities allow you to sample the curriculum by attending a class, meet individually with an Admission Counselor for a Transfer of Credit Evaluation (unofficial transcripts required), or get started on your application at the Common Application Open Lab.

On the Spot Admission Program for Transfer Students
Submit your Common Application online by March 24th and turn in your letter of recommendation and transcripts from all colleges attended at this event. While you attend a campus tour and presentation on academics at Mills College, Admission Counselors will read your application. The event will conclude with a reception with current students of Mills College. During the reception, Counselors will meet with individual students to share their admission decisions with them.
