Visiting Mills

Visit Mills College The best way to get to know Mills is by visiting our campus and engaging with our intelligent and inquisitive community. From the moment you enter the front gate, you’ll find yourself welcomed by century-old trees that line Richards Road. Between the Mediterranean-style buildings and the Oakland, CA sun, you may find yourself falling in love with the campus, as so many of our students do. Interested students who are unable to visit may take advantage of our online engagement opportunities, detailed below.

Attend a 'Visit Day'
Visit days are held multiple times per semester and is an interactive day to meet with professors, sit in on classes, take a tour of the campus, and attend a guest presentation from companies (google for example) or an alumni or faculty speaker. Attend a Tech Talk
As a prospective student, you are invited to attend any of our talks or workshops geared towards computer science students at Mills. Please contact us if you are interested in attending. The current list of workshops can be found here

Schedule an Admission Consultation
Take a virtual tourAn admission consultation is an informal meeting or phone/skype call with a member of the graduate admissions staff or computer science faculty to discuss your personal academic and career objectives and determine whether Mills can help you reach these goals. Consultations commonly occur Monday through Friday at 11:00 am and 2:45 pm. Other times are available during business hours. To schedule an on-campus consultation, please use this form. Visit a Class
A class visit will allow you to experience the rigor, personalization, and interdisciplinary nature of the Mills Computer Science program. Class visits can be scheduled during most of the academic year, and a current list of classes can be found here. Class visit requests must be made two weeks in advance through this form.

Take a Campus Tour
Walking tours of the campus are offered by the Office of Graduate Admissions Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00 am. We encourage interested students to combine a campus tour with other visit opportunities, such as admissions consultations and class visits, as detailed above.
