Mills is Committed to Student Success.
Mills offers a highly personalized and transformative education to a diverse population of students. Through our academic programs, one-on-one faculty mentorship, and engaged learning experiences, we provide the resources that build critical thinking skills and empower students to thrive intellectually. Our goal is to ensure that all Mills students graduate equipped for professional advancement and prepared to make meaningful change in the world.
Retention & Graduation
To encourage students to persist to graduation, we have integrated first-year student living and learning programs that provide a strong foundation for success. In addition, our faculty advisors, academic navigators, and peer tutors provide a personal support network to help students accomplish their goals at Mills.
Students utilize our career development resources throughout their time at Mills. We survey students after graduation to assess how their Mills education prepared them for success. Ninety-two percent of our Class of 2018 was employed or pursuing further education a few months after graduation.
Many of our undergraduate and graduate students choose to pursue an advanced degree after their education at Mills. Students report that they are well prepared by Mills to continue their education and have been admitted to prestigious graduate schools across the United States and the United Kingdom.
Mills College helped me become the leader I am now.
It was important for me to be in small classes where I would have my professors' attention. Mills professors were mentors who helped me define who I am as an American Indian Latina woman. I found my voice within my identity and am now increasing the visibility of urban American Indians.Esther Lucero, Chief Executive Officer, Seattle Indian Health Board
