About the Program
The Pre-Nursing Program at Mills is part of an innovative partnership with Boston’s Simmons College that will prepare you for a career in nursing. After a two-year course of study at Mills, you’ll receive a pre-nursing certificate that will equip you to thrive at a prestigious nursing school. Students who successfully complete the pre-nursing requirements at Mills are guaranteed admission to the bachelor of science in nursing program (BSN) at Simmons College. There you’ll pursue your clinical experience and the advanced training to complete your nursing degree and get on your way to a fulfilling career.
At Mills, you’ll enjoy small, interactive classes where you’ll gain a strong foundation in psychology, biology, and chemistry. You’ll use sophisticated equipment in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the Betty Irene Moore Natural Sciences Building. You’ll round out your Mills education with enriching courses in mathematics, English, philosophy, and sociology. Dedicated professors will guide you through your course work and mentor you one-on-one.
Admission to Simmons’ rigorous BSN program is available to pre-nursing students who graduate with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and minimum 3.0 science GPA in required course work, and who have attained an 80 percent score or higher on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).
