Graduate school is a powerful investment in your future, and it's important to find a college that is the right fit for you. That's why we make it easy for you to get to know Mills.
Mills offers you the best of both worlds: a beautiful, welcoming campus and easy access to the vibrant city of Oakland. Enjoy a sneak peek through our virtual tour and then check out our visit options below.
When you visit our campus in person, you can sit in on real classes in your area of interest, talk with a professor, get advice from one of our graduate admission counselors, and take a tour led by a current Mills student. Even better? You can set up all of this using one easy online form.
Many of our graduate programs host special events for prospective students throughout the academic year. We also invite you to attend some of the many performances, exhibitions, and lecture series at Mills that are open to the public and focus on the work of our graduate students and faculty.
View an Exhibition.
Mills is home to our very own Mills College Art Museum (MCAM), an institution that engages our students, faculty, and surrounding communities with challenging, thought-provoking exhibitions of contemporary art. Each spring, our graduating MFA students curate an eagerly anticipated thesis exhibition. Visit the MCAM site for hours and exhibition information.
Attend an Art Lecture.
Our MFA students work together to curate and organize an art lecture series that brings prominent local and national artists to Mills during the academic year. Hosted at MCAM, the evening lectures are free and open to the public. Recent speakers have included Margo Machida, Nandipha Mntambo, Karthik Pandian, and Jennifer West. Visit the MCAM events page to view upcoming dates for the graduate lecture series.
Attend a Visit Day Event.
Our computer science visit days are held several times each semester. During these interactive days you'll have the opportunity to:
Email email@example.com to find out the dates for upcoming visit days and reserve your spot.
Sit in on a Tech Talk.

Recent guest speakers have included representatives from Adobe Systems, Facebook, the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center, Oracle, and Pixar.
Book Art Studio Tours
The book art studios are an incredible asset of the MFA in Book Art and Creative Writing Program. Book art studio tours are offered during the academic year (September through November during the fall semester, and February through April during the spring semester) and on an as-available basis over the summer. To schedule your tour, email email@example.com at least two weeks before your preferred visit date.
Attend a Performance.
You can experience the innovation and creativity that are hallmarks of the Mills Dance Program by taking advantage of dance performance opportunities during the academic year. In the fall, you can see the Mills College Repertory Dance Company at work while enjoying their free, public performances. The annual MFA thesis concerts take place in the spring and are the highly anticipated culmination of the Mills MFA experience.
Attend an Information Session.
An information session led by a Mills admission counselor is a great way for you to learn more about our graduate Music Program. Learn about our three master's degrees in music, the inclusive environment at Mills, the admission application process, and funding opportunities. Information sessions are often held prior to Mills Music Now concerts.
Attend a Performance.
You can experience the groundbreaking experimental spirit that is the hallmark of our graduate Music Program through our robust schedule of concerts during the academic year. From the annual Mills Music Now concerts to the Center for Contemporary Music's Songlines series to the incredible Signal Flow concerts that showcase the work of our graduating music students, each performance showcases the unique music scene at Mills.
