Mills College is committed to providing a diverse, inclusive environment dedicated to helping Oakland girls and young women succeed in college. To make a transformative Mills education accessible and affordable, we are offering generous scholarships and financial aid to qualified students.
Mills will provide a minimum financial aid scholarship of $7,000 to every Oakland Unified School District high school student admitted this fall with a minimum high school GPA of 3.2. Higher scholarship amounts may be offered to admitted students with higher GPAs.
In addition to these awards, we are excited to offer 10 Mills-Oakland Promise Scholarships, including the African American Female Excellence Scholarship, the Latina Excellence Scholarship, and eight additional Mills-Oakland Promise scholarships.
To qualify for the $7,000 Mills scholarship and be considered for a Mills-Oakland Promise Scholarship, you must:

Since scholarships and grants are awards that do not have to be paid back (unlike student loans), we encourage Mills-Oakland Promise students to apply for:
For the fall 2020 term, students who receive the $7,000 Mills scholarship, an Oakland Promise scholarship, and the maximum Pell and Cal Grant awards will have earned enough aid to completely cover the cost of their tuition and fees at Mills. These Mills-Oakland Promise students will be able to attend Mills free of tuition and required fees (subject to continued Oakland Promise scholarship, Pell Grant, and Cal Grant eligibility).
