Athletics & Recreation

A Mills College student-athlete competes at an NCAA Division III swim meet.

Whether you’re a dedicated athlete or an enthusiastic novice, our athletic teams will help you take your skills to the next level and fuel your drive to compete. Mills fields six NCAA Division III varsity teams led by top-notch coaches who are passionate about teaching and team building.

Your coaches and teammates will challenge and support you as you achieve excellence—on the field, in the classroom, and in your life.

Along with varsity sports, Mills offers physical education classes that are so popular more than half of Mills students sign up each semester. Try classes including capoeira, fencing, hip hop aerobics, or Zumba. You can even study Introduction to Sports Medicine or Eastern and Western styles of massage.

Outside of classes, you can join the fitness and softball clubs, the futsal intramural league, or show your Mills pride as a member of the cheer squad.

Our organized off-campus excursions let you take full advantage of the Bay Area—our students kayak on the San Francisco Bay, hike Angel Island, and camp near the beaches and mountains of Santa Cruz.
