Mills College has long been renowned as a center for creative experimentation in the arts. From the 10,000+ works in our museum to the cutting-edge contemporary music performances in our historic concert hall, you can have a front-row seat to—or a stage for—artistic innovation.
Don’t expect the ordinary from the arts scene at Mills. The Mills College Art Museum is a place for exploring contemporary art and ideas with year-round professional exhibitions as well as annual shows featuring statement-making work by our undergraduate seniors and our graduate MFA students.
The Littlefield Concert Hall, with its majestic architecture and richly hued frescoes, surprises visitors by showcasing some of the most avant-garde experimental and electronic musical performances on the West Coast. Our students take the stage year round as well as during our annual graduate student show—Signal Flow New Media Festival.
Dancers experiment in our proscenium theater, Lisser Hall, through our repertory dance company and MFA student thesis performances. And literary fans attend our Contemporary Writers Series or Works-in-Progress reading series to hear the latest words from established and emerging writers.
In short, the arts are happening at Mills.
