Hania Thomas-Adams is a Palliative Care Child Life Specialist at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. She holds a BA in Psychology from Smith College in Northampton, MA and an MA in Early Childhood Education and Child Life from Mills College, where she completed a Master's Thesis on the therapeutic value of Bibliotherapy when working with grieving children. Hania holds a certification in Compassionate Bereavement Care from the MISS Foundation and a multidisciplinary certificate in Pediatric Palliative Care from the Shiley Haynes Institute at California State University. She is a certified Facility Dog Handler for the children's hospital at which she works and in a member of the local chapter of Child Life Disaster Relief, which provides training for First Responders in the specific needs of children immediately following disasters and traumatic events.
