His broad research interests include substance abuse and psychopharmacology with a focus on individual differences, emotion and social cognition. He has investigated these issues in rhesus monkeys which provide a translational bridge to humans. To date his research has focused on the relationships between central neurochemistry and personality and the impact of adolescent alcohol consumption on emotional and social behavior.
