At Mills Since 2002


Samara Halperin's short films and videos have been making audiences laugh, cry and scream in screenings from Australia to Saskatchewan, since 1989. Samara is from New York City and lives in Oakland, California; where they make movies, teach film/video making at Mills College, and admire palm trees. Samara's special areas of interest are Stop motion Animation, experimental film and video, pop culture, Super-8/16mm cameras, films/videos made during the AIDS epidemic, Queer film/video, and vintage toys. Samara is currently working on the sequel to their award winning animated film, "Tumbleweed Town." Samara's work has been featured on LOGO Television's "The Click List, Best In Short Film."
