Biography

Sandra Banks is director of the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program. She primarily teaches General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry and is a co-author of the lab manuals for Organic Chemistry and Hellman Chemistry used at Mills. Known for excellence in teaching, Sandra received the ASMC Teaching Award. Most recently Sandra has been involved in development of innovative teaching methods, including usage of “flipped classroom” and the Mills iPad initiative. In the Fall of 2018, Sandra worked on a project on teaching Problem Solving in STEM supported by a grant from Carnegie-Melon.
