Professional Interests: American Musical Theater, New Works, Performance Practice, Voice-over. Member of: AEA, SAG/AFTRA & AGVA. Broadway, national tour, regional, film, television and voice actress. Stage director & choreographer, vocal coach.


At Mills Since 2019


After 15 years performing on Broadway (Cry-Baby, 9 to 5, Kinky Boots), National Tours (Wicked, Producers, White Christmas), regionally (Radio City, Kennedy Center, Goodspeed), in London (Silence! the musical) and in film (Frozen, Sex and the City 2, The Producers), Tory (Ross) Roman began teaching privately in New York City, across the country and now the Bay Area after relocating with her family. She has taught Master Classes in Acting, Voice, Improv, Dialect, Business for the Performer and Audition Techniques all over the country for institutions such as Broadway Classroom, CCM, Sweet Briar College, Notre Dame de Namur, Studio A.C.T., Theatreworks and Lick-Wilberding High School. A graduate of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, Neighborhood Playhouse and Second City Chicago, Professor Roman's current research involves the conservancy of the American musical, the factors determining its' commercial success and the influence of digital media on the creation process.
