Superintendent of Oakland Schools Must Understand Teaching

Oakland, CA–May 08, 2013 With the Oakland Unified School District’s leadership in flux midway through the struggling district’s five-year plan, an op-ed piece by Katherine Schultz, dean of the School of Education at Mills College, was featured in the Oakland Tribune today.

Schultz offered her input on the OUSD’s superintendent search in the wake of Tony Smith’s unexpected resignation and the subsequent appointment of School Board Trustee Gary Yee as acting superintendent.
