Mills Teacher Scholars featured in Educational Leadership
Oakland, CA–October 29, 2013 This month’s issue of Educational Leadership carefully examines two different leadership models shaping the roles of teachers today. One approach, described as collaborative leadership, enables teachers to share their unique talents and interests and learn from each other.
The Mills College School of Education offers the Mills Teacher Scholars program which enables participants to conduct a year-long research project on an aspect of student learning. More than 90 K–12 urban public school teachers come together to talk about their investigations with an eye toward improving student learning outcomes. As a result of this collaborative effort, teachers help inform teaching across their schools.
