Mills Financial Aid Experts Featured in Oakland Magazine, Share Tips to Avoid Tuition Debt

Oakland, CA–September 02, 2016

Mills College was featured recently in an Oakland Magazine article for parents and students titled “Paying for College? Five Steps to Remember.”

The story offers advice on how to navigate the high cost of college tuition and shows how Mills accommodates families seeking options. Mills Director of Undergraduate Admissions Robynne Royster said parents whose children are considering Mills and thinking about financial aid should “apply regardless of whether they think they qualify.”

The story noted that Mills students who want more than an undergraduate degree can save money by earning a master’s “in only one extra year after completing a bachelor’s, saving thousands of dollars.”

Mills College Vice President for Financial Services Jeff Hardie urged parents whose children are determined to attend Mills College, but who feel they have exhausted their search for affordable tuition, to simply call the financial aid office. “We’re committing to help every student who wants to be here,” Hardie said.
