In what promises to be a lively and engaging series of monthly interviews, Mills College recently hosted its first Facebook Live broadcast, Live from the Heller Room at Mills College, with college President Elizabeth Hillman.

The inaugural broadcast featured Hillman hosting a discussion about the US presidential election with Mills Professor of Public Policy Practice Larry Magid and public policy student Maira Perez Velazquez. The discussion covered Magid’s observations about president-elect Donald Trump’s controversial behavior and student reactions to Trump’s candidacy during presidential debate parties he held leading up to the election. Perez Velazquez, who was active in a congressional get-out-the-vote drive in California’s Central Valley during the recent election, offered a student’s take on the presidential election results.

In addition to discussing important topics of the day during upcoming Facebook Live broadcasts, Hillman will take questions from the viewing public. The next event on December 15, at 2:30 pm will feature Hillman in conversation with Karen Fiene, Mills director of construction compliance and sustainability, and Alisha Strater, Mills farm manager.
