Mills gives you the opportunity to exercise both your body and your mind. We field six NCAA Division III varsity teams for undergraduate students led by top-notch coaches who are passionate about teaching and team building. Your coaches and teammates will challenge and support you as you achieve excellence—on the field, in the classroom, and in your life.

Mills student-athletes (aka Cyclones) pride themselves on both their sports talent and academic prowess, earning some of the highest GPAs at Mills. They're also deeply involved in community service—hosting a tennis camp for neighborhood children, raising money to support women with breast cancer, and volunteering at local schools.

With on-campus facilities to support our athletics program, and off-campus resources such as Briones Reservoir for early-morning crew practice and the San Francisco Bay Area as our natural playground, you’ll find a robust offering of athletics, physical education, and recreation activities at your disposal.

Along with varsity sports, Mills offers popular physical education classes that attract more than half of all Mills students each semester. You can try capoeira, fencing, hip hop aerobics, or Zumba classes, among others. You can even get an introduction to sports medicine and study Eastern and Western styles of massage.

Outside of classes, you can join the fitness and softball clubs, the futsal intramural league, or show your Mills pride as a member of the cheer squad. You can also enjoy our beautiful Trefethen Aquatic Center with its 10-lane outdoor swimming pool and therapy spa.

Our organized off-campus excursions let you take full advantage of the Bay Area—our students kayak on the San Francisco Bay, hike Angel Island, and camp near the beaches and mountains of Santa Cruz. However you choose to join in, at Mills you’ll be able to challenge your body and enhance your overall health and wellness.
