No matter where you choose to live—on or off campus—we want you to feel at home. As a commuter student, you'll have full access to everything that makes the Mills experience so uniquely powerful: top-ranked academics, independent and creative students, and a commitment to inclusivity. You can also access dedicated commuter resources that will help you get the most out of your college experience.
The Mills campus is easily accessible by car, bike, or public transportation. Our street address for GPS and trip planning is 5000 MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland, California.
One of the trickiest parts of commuting can be finding a home base for studying and down time. That’s why we created the Cyclone Hub, a community lounge space for commuters and graduate students. Located in Rothwell Center, the Cyclone Hub offers couches, Wi-Fi, a computer lab, study whiteboards, a TV with Netflix, and access to a refrigerator and microwave. In addition, students who commute to Mills can sign up for a storage locker.
The Cyclone Hub is managed by the Center for Leadership, Equity, and Excellence. Student program assistants and professional staff alike can answer your commuting questions and help you get the resources you need. Throughout the semester, the Center organizes mixers and activities to help you build connections with other commuter students and deepen your connection to campus life.
