Housed in the Mills Chapel, the Department of Spiritual and Religious Life (SRL) encourages students and members of the Mills community to reflect on how to create meaningful lives and a just world. The wood-and-glass Chapel is a peaceful refuge and gathering space for the Mills community. The nondenominational Chapel is open seven days a week for meditation and reflection, educational and creative activities, or conversations with the director of spiritual and religious life. The Chapel also hosts popular community events throughout the year such as the Festival of Light and Dark and Baccalaureate.
Living a spiritual life means standing up for what you believe. The Department of Spiritual and Religious Life organizes campus-wide conversations about the moral imperatives to protect and preserve the rights of groups such as immigrants, the LGBTQ community, and religious minorities.
