The Mills College Art Museum serves as a forum for exploring art and ideas and as a laboratory for contemporary
art practices. It’s also a place where undergraduate and graduate students have the
opportunity to curate, install, and exhibit their own work.
Music at Mills
Mills College has been a center of musical creativity and innovation for the past
century. Today, Mills faculty, students, and visiting artists come together to define
the cutting edge of music from electronic music to classical performance to jazz improvisation
in our annual Mills Music Now concert series.
Students and the general public have the opportunity to interact with the world-class
writers, scholars, and artists who visit campus every semester through our Contemporary Writers Series. Each reading is followed by an informal reception that helps cultivate a tight-knit
literary community of emerging and established writers.
Mills boasts one of the first and most visionary dance programs in the country, featuring
the Mills Repertory Dance Company and collaborations with Bay Area dancers. Nationally
renowned guest artists offer master classes and work with students on choreography
and performances throughout the year.
